HSS Forum President

On November 10th, 2016, the International High Speed Steel Research Forum (HSS Forum) elected its new President, Michal Grepl, today's Sales manager and member of board in the company ZPS-Frezovaci nastroje, traditional european producer of HSS cutting tools from Zlin in the Czech Republic. Factory ZPS-Frezovaci nastroje is continuing in tool production, that has started in well-known Bata shoe company already in 1930´s.

Michal Grepl, the successor of Carlos Pujana, who has left his position after 6 years of presidency, believes, that HSS tools are still not out of game and have market potential, because of unique and interchangeable characteristics of high speed steels. HSS Forum effort is to keep HSS tools in minds and remind to end users and application engineers this option during defining the most efficient machining processes. Michal Grepl says, that HSS Forum has to focus its activities on closer cooperation with Universities and define the way how to motivate young generation to bring new success stories of HSS tools in practice.

HSS Forum is now developing new web solutions that will be helpful to highlight technological evolutions of HSS tools.

He adds that, „we will also be happy to welcome new members from the HSS tool industry".
